| | The death of a William Southworth aged 31 was announced on 13th February 1846 in the Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser. The age at death matches the birth date of William the son of James Southworth. But in this announcement, William was described as having been the son of Mr William Southworth of Edgeley, near Stockport. I am sure that his father must have been really the James Southworth who married Mary Schofield, because he was reported to have been staying at the time of his death with his brother-in-law R B Schofield in Manchester. William Southworth of Edgeley near Stockport was his uncle. By that time William senior was close to death and living with his son James in Edgeley. Unfortunately, I cannot find the same parents for both Mary and R B Schofield, nor can I find a death date on FreeBMD for R B Schofield |
