| This was the will of Mary Wordsworth in 1692
In the name of god amen, the fourth day of October in the fourth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord and Lady William and Mary of England AD 1692, I Mary Wordsworth of Brookehouse in the parish of Penistone in the county of York, widow, being infirm of body but of good and perfect memory, thanks be given to God for the same, and knowing the uncertainty of this life on earth and being desirous to settle mine estate in peace, do make and ordain this my last willl and testament in manner and form following: viz First and principally I commend my soul to Almighty God my creator hoping through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer to have free pardon of all my sins, and to be saved by his glorious(?) death and passion and by his perfect righteousness imputed to me, and my body I commit to the earth, to be interred in such decent of Christian manner as to my executor herein after nominated shall be thought moot and convenient, and as touching such worldly estate as the Lord in mercy hath lent me: my mind and will is that the same shall be employed and bestowed as hereafter by this my will is expressed. Imprimis I will that all my debts legacies and funeral expenses be discharged and paid out of my whle goods and personal estate within convenient time after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto Isaac Wordsworth my son one ? bed now standing in the parlour and one long settle now standing in the house and also twenty shillings in money. Item I give and bequeath unto Camdona Wordsworth my daughter in law, and to her children John Wordsworth, Welcome Wordsworth and Kirby Wordsworth my grandchildren to each of them twopence(?) apiece. And whereas I have paid and secured to be paid unto Sarah Morton my daughter, the wife of Thomas Morton a considerable sum of money in lieu of her portion or child's part, I do now further give and bequeath unto her and to her daughter Sarah Morton my grandchild to each of them one shilling in money. Item I give and bequeath unto the daughters of Richard Komarley, my grandchildren, all my apparel and wearing clothes, to be equally divided amongst them all. Item I give and bequeath unto Josias Komarley my grandchild one pound of lawful English money to be paid to him so soon as he shall accomplish the age of one and twenty years. Item I give and bequeath unto Susanna Booth of Brookehouse aforesaid five(?) shillings of like money. Item all the residue and remainder of all my goods chattels and personal estate whatsever(?) I give and bequeath unto Mary Murehouse, Martha Komarley, Jeremiah Komarley the children of the said Richard Komarley to be equally divided amongst them as the and every of them respectively shall accomplish the age of one and twenty years, and I do make and appoint the aforesard Isaac Wordsworth my son to be the sole executor of this my last will, hereby revoking and making void all former and other wills whatsoever by me heretofore made, either by word or written.
