| His very long will was made on 28/6/1755. It would appear that he had no children from either marriage (or none survived anyway) Bequeathed most to his wife Catherine. Bequests also to Brother-in-law Dr Short, husband of sister Mary and their children. Also bequests to servants and 50 pounds to the church - also to the poor. Money to the schoolmaster for teaching 6 poor children. |

| Will dated 12/1/1739 in which he described himself as a gentleman. Aunt Brown was to assist in his burial, and received 10 pounds (not sure which aunt this was) Bequeathed to his nephew John Parkin (second son of brother Paul) his tenement called Colly Elm and also his housing and lands in the possession of Joseph Roe. Also the rights and title to the farm called Games Croft. He was to be maintained at school at the discretion of John's brother William Parkin of Mortomley. All of the trustees would receive 10 guineas for their trouble. To his nephew Thomas Short, son of her sister Mary, he gave 100 pounds when he is 21. Sister Mary Short, wife of Doctor Short, was to receive the interest on 250 pounds, the principal to be divided between her two children, Thomas and Mary, on her decease.
