In 1637 there was a deed between "Bartholomew Pettingall and John Russell of one part and Herbert Kemeys and Roger Cadogan of the other part for the provision of a mortgage from Gilbert Russell to Bartholomew Pettingall of Keven y Gaffick Tyre was maded 20th June 12 Carl prim (1637)"
Roger conveyed land to his eldest son Richard in 1650
Roger was mentioned in the will of Godwin Pettingale 14th August 1654, so he must have still been living then.
He thus became administrator to the will of Godwyn's father, his brother-in-law Bartholomew Pettingall, the vicar of Dilwyn.
In 1634 at Trostrey, Roger Cadogan paid 2 shillings and sixpence chief rent (and also 3d) to the Court of Surveigh (sic) out of Exchequer

Henry was described as being Gentleman of the parish of Llanfihangel juxta Llantarnam in 1634, when he was on a jury concerned with the manor of Magna Porta, where the lord of the manor was Edward Morgan Esq. He paid 6s 5d rent for his land

"The answer and presentment of the jury undernamed and
exhibited unto Higgins Powell and George Skiddamore, gentn,
commissioner, surveyors and stewards, on behalf of the right worshipfull Edward Morgan, esq., touching his survey of his manor or lordship of Magna Porta in the County of Monmouth to certain Articles propounded and given in to us in charges to enquire of. Dated 9 Julij, anno regni regis Caroli, Angliae, &c., decimo, 1634. We do present, &c.

In 1647 Henry inherited some land in manor of Redcastle (NB. not Redwick as written by Bradney), plus some with a limestone quarry and limekiln in Pritvack, Pantague (Panteg).
(It would seem that his father in his will did not trust him to carry out his requests!)

A Henry Cadogan was a witness to the will of David Kemis of Kevenmable on 2/3/1663 in Llanfair Discoed, and this may have been him

His own will was dated 16th Jan 1678 and is at the NLW (LL/1678/61)
He left 6d to Llandaff Cathedral and the same to the local minister for forgotten tithes!
He bequeathed 20 pounds from John Handley of Pontypool to his 3 daughters, Sarah, Rachel and Hannah.
They also benefited from 6 closes of land in the parish (Ka Jenkin, y Croft bach, kae hire, gwern wladis goch, gwain wladis goch and kae bach) for 21 years (ie until 1699).
There was also rent from some land in Llantilio Crossenny.
