| Mary Railton was mentioned in her father Christopher's will, so she was presumably his married daughter She was a minor beneficiary of the will of her Brother Phillip in 1740, where she was described as Mary Railton. |

| Ann was bequeathed 10 pounds in her father's will of 1726, at which time she was still unmarried. If her mother was Mary Paipe, she would have been christened at Aikton on 15th May 1692, but this seems very unlikely to me. |

| | There were at least two John Hardings having children in the 1720s, so finding out which were his is not possible based just on the IGI, |

| Arthur Harding was one of the executors of his father's will of 1729, along with 3 of his brothers, so he must presumably have been born before 1708. He was also executor of the will of his brother Philip in 1740
This is a transcription of his own will ..... In the name of God Amen. The Eleventh Day of May 1767, I Arthur Harding of Dovcot in the parish of Walton and in the County of Cumberland being weak in body but in perfect mind and memory praised be to God for it do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (viz) Item. I give and bequeath to my son Christopher Harding our bay mear and all the husbandry gear . Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Thompson the sum of forty (thirty?) pounds; and all the rest of my goods and chattels I give and bequeath to my Wife Barbry Hardon and do make and ordain her my whole and sole Executor this being my last Will and Testament. In witnefs hearof I have set my hand and seal the Day and year above written. Arthur Harding his mark X and Seal
His grave was found in Walton churchyard (but not by me) |

| Mary's maiden name may have been Nixon. There is an IGI record of a marriage of Christopher Harding and Mary Paipe on 30th January 1682, recorded at both Aikton and Holme Cultram, but these places are at Wigton, a long way away from Irthington. Mary was bequeathed the household goods that she brought to the house in her husband's will of 1726 |
