When Mary died on 23rd August 1817, the burial record shows that she was aged 48, which would imply that she was born in late 1768 or early 1769.
As far as I can see, the only Mary Roberts who was born within this period and baptised an Llanrhaiadr-ym-Mochnant was one of the twin daughters (the other was called Anne) of John and Margaret Roberts, who farmed at Banhadla Uchaf.

Farmer of Banhadla Uchaf, later Henfachau
There must have been two John Roberts whose wife name was Margaret, because a John Roberts with these parents was baptised in Llanrhaiadr on 14th Nov 1777, the same year that Robert was baptised. This John was described as a miller living in the village.
At the time of son Robert's burial in 1778 aged 1, John' s occupation was given as labourer and he was living in Llanrhaiadr. It is just possible that this was a different Robert.
John remarried shortly after the death of his first wife.
A John (farmer) Roberts and Sarah of Nantfyllon had a son John on 7 June 1799, baptised on 16th June, suggesting that he married yet again? But I could not find a burial date for his second wife Mary.
A John Roberts of Llanrhaiadr died of a fever was buried there on 5th June 1802 but his occupation was shown as labourer and no age was shown in the transcript, so this may have been another John
