| John made his will on 2nd January 1701. It was proved in 1702. "to my wife Ursula an annuity of 1 pound out of my Birtley property during the residue of the term of years demised to me by the Duke and Duchess of Somerset; to my nephew Joseph Robson my property called Low Sheels Green; to my nephew John Robson the right of all my leasehold held of the Duke and Duchess of Somerset; residue to my nephew Jacob Robson youngest son of my late brother William Robson decd; my nephew John Robson of Birtley executor" [Neasham's Wills p. 81]
According to the IGI, William and Catren Robson had sons called John and Jacob. Although a Joseph was born to a William Robson at Chollerton on 13 November 1687, his wife's name was shown as Ann rather than Catren. At the time of Catren's (ie Catherine's) burial in 1715, she was shown as being of Low Shield Green, so she could have been living then with Joseph. |
