| In the 1861 census, Sara Ann Davies is recorded in the Registration district of Pontypool. In 1871, Sarah Ann together with children John and Eliza travelled to New York on the SS Nevada, arriving there on 13th December 1871. There is no mention of Florence or Martha Harries (so perhaps they had both died by then) nor of husband Reuben. But New York was where their daughter Rhoda was born, before they all returned to Wales! Sarah Ann Cadogan died a widow in the Bridgend Registration District in the fourth quarter of 1915 (11a 939) at the age of 72. She was probably born in the Neath Registration District in either the fourth quarter of 1843 (v26 p437) or the first quarter of 1844 (v26 p457) |
