| Lived at Ringing (or Rinnion) Hills. His older brother John died intestate, and Thomas was the administrator of his estate on Jun 4th 1763.
According to Joan Tweddle, he died on 12th Jan 1795 (Bewcastle, Lanercost). According to Ron Wicks it was 11th Jan 1795 (Lanercost)
Thomas (husbandman of Ringonhills) made his will on 25th November 1794 One of the winesses was a Mary Harding, possibly the mother of his daughter-in-law Mary, the wife of his son Thomas Tweddle. The other witness, Joseph Armstrong, was possibly his brother-in-law, the brother of his wife, who was born Mary Armstrong. There was a Joseph Armstrong, son of Robert, who was baptised at Bewcastle on 26th Jan 1758, but this may have been a different Robert.
In the name of God Amen, November the twenty fifth day 1794, I Thomas Tweddle of Ringonhills in the parish of Lannercost and county of Cumberland, husbandman, being very sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, do make and appoint this my last will and testament that is to say principally I recommend my soul to God that gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent manner and as tuching(?) such worldly goods as it hath pleased God to bless me with . . . I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Holme twenty pounds, together with one meal(?)chest standing on the low house Loft. I also give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Tweddle sixty pounds. Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann Tweddle sixty pounds. I likewise give and bequeath to my daughter Susannay Tweddle sixty pounds. I further give and bequeath to my three youngest daughters Mary Tweddle, Ann Tweddle and Susannay Tweddle the two best oak presses(?) and dresser in the kitcchen and the furniture theiron and corner cubert with the cheaney(?) and silver spoon, spoon and tea tongs theirin, three round tables (?), two box irons, one bedstead standing at the west end of the parlor loft, one bedstead standing facen the store(?) head on the kitchen loft. Also all the bedding sheets, cloth and table linning and all the cloth of every kind and three lint wheals, they shall chuse one long chack(?) real(?), one wolen wheal of their chusen to be divided among them, shair and shair alike, except two beds furnished according to their discretion as they shall think fit and the clothing on the close(?) bed and stands which I give and bequeath with all my money and the rest of my goods and effects to my two sons, Thomas Tweddle and Robert Tweddle, whom I make sole executors of this my last will and testament, and I do hereby utterly dissallow, revock and disannul all and every other wills, testaments, legacies bequests and executrors by me at any time heare to fore named and made willed and bequeathed, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.
