Will/Admon

In 1722 Christopher Wannop of Holme House, Newby was the new churchwarden for Irthington
Christopher was bequeathed one shilling in the will of his father Humphrey in 1727, having previously taken over the estate.

In 1729 he witnessed the will of Charles Wannop of Great/Little Corby, Hayton. The executrix was apparently Isabella Wannop, relict (ie Charles' widow).
In 1731 Christopher Wannop of Holme House, Newby acquired land at Crabtree Dales at Newby Holme and North Croft at Newby; also renting at Moorhouse.
In 1742 he was still alive for the marriage of his son Christopher Wannop to Margaret Richardson.

I am assuming that this was the Christopher Wannop yeoman of Newby, who died intestate in 1759 , on 11th August 1759, and NOT the Christopher Wannop of Newby who I understand from Urlan Wannop died in 1774, bequeathing land

"At Carlisle August 11th 1759 on which day appeared personally Christopher Wannop yeoman and alledged that Christopher Wannop late of Newby in the parish of Irthington of Carlisle the elder deceased died intestate without making any will (so far as he doth know or believe) that he was his true, natural lawful & only next of kin of the said deceased therefore he prayed letters od aministration of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased to be committed and granted to him the said Cgristopher Wannop on his giving good and sufficient security in that behalf."

In 1797 a Christopher Wannop of Newby was buried, but this is rather late for this Christopher
In 1804 a Mary Wannop was buried aged 88, widow of Christopher Wannop of Newby. This was possibly his wife, as his son Christopher married a Margaret not a Mary. But she would have to have been a second wife.
